Cruisin Classics is proud to present the newest addition to our showroom - this stunning 1932 Ford Custom Coupe. If you're looking for a little Deuce Coupe that combines old-school cool with a first-rate modern powerplant and amenities, you're going to love this '32! We're told this build was completed back in 2014, and judging from its current condition, it has lived a pretty pampered life since then. This build started with a Williams frame (both boxed and tubular steel) that was painted body-color and outfitted with a four-link rear suspension, RideTech adjustable coil-overs on all four corners, an independent front suspension with tubular A-arms, and a Flaming River steering rack. Next, the frame was topped with a fiberglass body from Bebops Glassworks and steel fenders, running boards, bi-fold louvered hood, and grille surround from Brookville Roadsters. This whole package was then painted with a slick coat of dark orange metallic paint that looks great on the curvaceous body. The paint still presents well, but some small chips and scratches put it in a "good driver-quality" category. Up front, you'll find a gleaming vertical bar grille fronted by a chrome light bar that ties together the swooping fenders. Chrome bucket headlamps with integrated turn signals are mounted to the bar. The hood has a chrome center bar, and the windshield follows suit with a bright surround. The windows all have a light tint, and body-color side mirrors flank both sides. The steel running boards are topped with a black textured rubber mat, and black welting is tucked between the fenders and the body. Adding a bright touch to both sides are elegantly curved chrome door handles. The perfect final touch to the side view are staggered steel wheels with chrome moon caps and beauty rings, all wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A's (215/60/R15 - front, 275/60/R15 - rear). Around back, beneath the curved decklid in white hand-painted script, is "Little Deuce Coupe" - a fitting homage to this historic ride. Beneath the script, a chrome bar links the rear frame horns behind the gas tank. Chrome swan-neck Duolamp taillights protrude from either side, and down below are two exhaust outlets with a trailer hitch at the center. The trailer hitch is for a matching fiberglass equipment trailer (also from Bebops Glassworks) that is perfect for taking chairs and a cooler to a car show or luggage for a trip. The trailer is painted to match the car, and it's outfitted with taillights, a third brake light, a lock, a tan felt interior, and wheels & tires to match the car as well.
Lift the folding hood panels and feel your heart beat faster at the sight of a 6.2-liter crate LS3 V-8! According to Chevy, this fuel-injected aluminum engine is capable of 430+ hp, making this lightweight coupe a virtual rocket on the road. This powerful V-8 is mated to a Tremec T56 Magnum 6-speed manual transmission that puts the power down via a 9" Ford rear axle - what a combination! The excitement doesn't end there, though; there's also an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, a Vintage Air A/C and heat system, and headers with dual exhaust. Stopping power is provided by four-wheel disc brakes.
With so much effort and money spent on the build thus far, it should come as no surprise that the interior of this '32 received equal treatment. Open the door to find a jaw-droppingly nice orangish-tan interior that invites you in for a comfortable cruise. The seat is the star of the show - a bench bottom with two individual bucket-style bolstered backs, all dressed in orangish-tan leather. The door panels, kick panels, rear panel, headliner, and windshield surround are all covered in a similar material in the same style - providing a very cohesive look and feel. The floor is covered in high-quality brown square-weave carpet, and rising up from the floor in the center is a Hurst dog-leg shifter with a white pattern ball for the 6-speed transmission. Ahead of the driver is a black leather-wrapped banjo-wire steering wheel on a tilt column with a working horn button. The simplistic black dash is home to a set of Autometer Phantom II gauges for temp, fuel, volts, oil pressure, and a speedometer. Also on the dash is a pull knob for the lights, a switch for the power trunklid, a switch for the power E-brake, the ignition, switches for the power windows, and an input for an iPod that's designed to play through speakers in the kick panels (we have not tested its functionality). Mounted beneath the dash are controls for the Vintage Air system that cranks out cold A/C and hot heat with a strong fan on demand. Above the windshield, you'll find individual controls for the working wipers (only the driver's side currently has an arm attached) and an oval rear-view mirror in the center. When you push the power trunk button on the dash, the decklid opens smoothly to reveal a beautifully finished trunk that matches the interior materials and style. In the trunk, there's a padded battery cover box and a trickle charger at the ready.
As you can see, this isn't your average Deuce Coupe build! It literally checks all the boxes - crate LS3 motor, headers, 6-speed Tremec manual, cold A/C, 4-wheel disc brakes, high-quality body-color frame, 4-link rear suspension, adjustable coilovers on all four corners, power windows, slick paint, an equipment trailer, and a gorgeous, comfortable interior! This is a car that's meant to be driven and enjoyed! Give our friendly staff a call today and be the lucky one who gets to sit behind the wheel of this cool '32 every weekend!
