1932 Ford Deuce Roadster Steel Body 425 Nailhead Buick
I am pleased to offer this very special 1932 Ford Roadster. This hot rod was built by Al Eshenbaugh as his personal car. Eshenbaugh has a long history as a racer and car builder. VIN # is AZ-315623. Titled as a 1932 Ford.
Car was completed in 2010 and has only been driven approx. 2,500 miles since being built. Always garage kept. It is a one owner vehicle since being built.
The car is powered by a mid 60’s Buick 425 cid nailhead motor with three carbs. It has a Buick automatic transmission. The rear end is a 9” Ford.
The body is a Brookville steel body and it rides on ASC frame rails – top notch components only were used.
Many of the parts and pieces on the car were hand built by Eshenbaugh making it that much more special.
Radiator shell and dashboard were powder coated and the body paint color was matched.
The pin striping on the trunk lid was done by Slo, who learned under the legendary painter Von Dutch.
The air scoop was a gift to Al from Red Greth of Speed Sport Roadster fame. Greth’s scoops also ran on Chris Karamesines dragsters in the 60’s.
The license plate is a 1932 copper Arizona plate that was a gift to the present owner from longtime Top Fuel dragster crew chief and parts builder J.T. Stewart.
This roadster was completed in 2010. The shakedown for the car was driving it to Pomona, California from Phoenix with the top down to display the car in the 46th Anniversary LA Roadster Show.
Interior – dashboard is from an old Packard,
– Shift knob is an old crystal door knob
– Steering column support is a connecting rod from a Renault V6 Turbo engine that ran in the Gulf Mirage cars at Le Mans
– New bomber seat belts
– Four square carpeting with extra floor mats
– Old school vinyl upholstery
He started drag racing in the late 1950’s and in the 60’s campaigned a series of Top Fuel dragsters with great success. (once the 9th ranked car in the nation). Al also competed in motocross and desert racing.
Later while in his 70’s his attention turned to land speed racing and he built and drove a nitro burning roadster that set records. He also built a lakester that also was a record holder at Bonneville. He now builds blown nitro Chrysler hemi engines for and crew chiefs the Bass Kustoms Roadster that runs at Bonneville.
