Purchased new in Westerville, Ohio in 1940. The family moved to Tucson, AZ shortly thereafter.
Original owner willed the car to his son in 1993 who is a renowned Aviation Restoration Specialist. Please learn more about him through his book, "Phoenix Rising".
An excerpt from an interview with Reporter, Gerald M. Gay in 2012:
"He spent the better part of two years restoring the vehicle, replacing every nut, screw and washer with nearly all original parts. Friends were surprised that he went through so much trouble. Everything down to the rivets were redone and replaced. "They would ask me why I didn't use bolts instead of rivets," he said. "I told them that it didn't originally have bolts in it. I wanted it to be as original as possible." "It wasn't as difficult as restoring an aircraft, but it was still a challenge."
His goal was to retrace a 1500 mile west coast road trip taken with his dad in 1948 in this very car! The car performed well with only a small ignition problem on the 2011 trip. Proof of a thorough restoration!

Our story with the car:
I was at a Car Show and was blown away with the quality of it! The fit, finish, quality throughout, smooth running engine, and the STORY behind the car drew me in! I purchased it from a friend of the grandson who brought it to the Midwest in 2022.
Our Flathead Mechanic went through the car and inspected it. Oil was changed. The brakes were adjusted. Mechanic bled the brakes and decided he didn't like how the wheel cylinders recovered. So the car now has four new wheel cylinders as well. Coolant looked and tested perfect.
So, the reason we're selling it is that it's SO NICE, we didn't even take it out once this year.

not finance vehicles older than 10 Years or with more than 100K miles.
Make sure if you are financing that your financial institution accepts the year and
miles of this vehicle before bidding. Please arrange financing prior to

Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping of this vehicle. If you wish to
have it shipped using a service, we will gladly cooperate.

professional on-site inspection. Deposits on vehicles not purchased are

to this contract shall be performable in Dodge County, Wisconsin. The
Vehicle is immediately F.O.B in Dodge County, Wisconsin, and all
obligations of Purchaser to pay for the vehicle shall be payable in Dodge
County, Wisconsin.
- It is agreed by all parties in
relation to any transaction involving this vehicle that the proper
venue for any legal proceedings and arbitrations shall be in Dodge County,
Wisconsin.
