Street Dreams is delighted to present this exceptional 1941 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special, a landmark automobile that represents one of the most significant turning points in Cadillac's design and engineering history. Styled by a young Bill Mitchell-who would later rise to GM's legendary design chief-the Sixty Special broke with convention by eliminating running boards, integrating the trunk, and creating a sleek profile with flowing fenders and larger windows. Its distinctive egg-crate grille, 126-inch wheelbase, and elegant proportions set the stage for Cadillac's postwar dominance as America's leader in style and prestige.

Historical Provenance
This Fleetwood benefits from an unusually well-documented ownership history:
Factory & WWII: Built late in 1941, shipped to Cadillac's Zone Manager in Chicago, and never titled. It remained at the Chicago Zone Office throughout the war.
First Owner: Sold after WWII to Dr. Simmons (OB/GYN), who cherished the car until his passing in 1980.
Second Owner: Stored by Dr. Simmons' widow for more than a decade, then sold in 1995 to the second owner in Canton, Ohio.
Third Owner: Acquired in December 2004 with only 81,220 documented miles. During this period the car was transported seasonally to Florida and Michigan and was invited to prestigious events, including the Glenmoor Gathering of Significant Automobiles (scoring 91.9/100 points) and the Ohio Hall of Fame Parade. The car was also featured in multiple newspaper articles.
Current Owner: Purchased in 2018, the car has since been lovingly cared for and well preserved.

Driving Impressions
Under the hood, Cadillac's refined 5.7L flathead V8 produces 150 hp with abundant low-end torque, making progress effortless through the smooth 3-on-the-tree manual gearbox. Factory figures claimed 0-60 mph in 14 seconds and a 100-mph top speed-astonishing numbers for 1941. Despite tipping the scales at 4,230 lbs and stretching 217 inches in length, the Fleetwood surprises with accurate steering, a remarkably tight turning circle, and a luxurious ride courtesy of its "knee-action" independent front suspension and long multileaf rear springs.
