Attention classic truck collectors/builders, Extremely cool truck is this very rare 1965 Chevrolet C10 short wheel base step-side pickup truck project, This truck was special ordered back in the day with some very rare options including both factory air conditioning and a 4 speed manual transmission which is a rare combination, Factory air was a very rare option in 1965 C10 trucks which were primarily viewed as work vehicles, Some estimates suggest only 2% (9866) of C10's in the mid-60's were ordered with A/C, and one source notes a specific truck as "one of only 200 in 1965 that came with factory air conditioning". The A/C system was an expensive add-on at the time, The combination of these two options is exceptionally rare because buyers who ordered the comfort of factory A/C often opted for the convenience of an automatic transmission, and those who chose a manual transmission (often for ruggedness or cost reasons) typically stuck with the standard 3 speed manual. Note: This is an honest/original short bed truck and not a cut down long bed, I have included a picture of the factory VIN stamping in the frame as well as the factory VIN tag showing that they match. This truck was bought new from Ray Smith Chevrolet in Camden Tennessee and then taken a short distance to Mississippi where it has been ever since.
