So Cal Classic Car Storage is proud to announce the availability of this beautiful high end driver quality 1967 Corvette 427 tri power L68. This beautiful and well maintained 1967
L68 powered Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray Convertible combines that year’s most
popular color (Goodwood green) with the potent 427 CI tri-power 400 HP big-block
V-8, a relatively rare powerplant that accounted for less than 10 percent of
total Corvette production in 1967. For more info about this amazing car contact Dean @ 714 402-5309.
Chevrolet’s original plans for the 1967
introduction of the third-generation Corvette were delayed a full year due to
development problems, forcing the division to revert to the current design. The
unintentional delay, however, resulted in what many aficionados consider the
best Corvette of the midyear era. The buying public were not alone in their
appreciation of this windfall; “Road & Track” magazine’s review of the 1967
model gushed, “The Sting Ray is in its fifth and probably last year with that
name and body style, and it finally looks the way we thought it should have in
the first place.” Exterior adornments were minimal, the three large fender
vents one each side gave way to a cleaner arrangement of five forward-leaning
vertical openings, and an all-new Rally wheel design wrapped up the clean new
look. In addition to the 300 HP and 350 HP 327 small-blocks, buyers could
choose from three variations of the production Mark IV 427 CI big-block engine,
the top two fitted with the new tri-power carburetion setup featuring three
progressively linked Holley 2-barrel carburetors. The milder of the two, listed
as RPO L68, employed a hydraulic cam that allowed ease of maintenance while
still delivering a satisfying 400 HP and 460 lb-ft of torque.
A highly original example with a single
repaint, this Goodwood Green 1967 Sting Ray convertible features the L68
427/400 HP tri-power engine with a period correct rebuilt 427 , matching-numbers Muncie
M21 close-ratio 4-speed and rear end, the original side exhaust and original
color interior. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2017 and runs flawlessly. It is offered with repair receipts dating back
to 1988 including engine overhaul, rebuilt carburetors and brakes. The owner has been meticulous on keeping up on
all of the maintenance on this beauty so all you need to do is to enjoy it on
the open road with the top down. She has a soft top which is in excellent
condition but did not come equipped with a hardtop.
