Up for sale is my 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000 LTD that’s a 23,870 mile survivor that considering its age is in very good running & cosmetic condition as can be seen in the pics,bike has clear title in my name.
The bike is in stock condition accept for the 4 into1 currently on it that’s sounds good not being too loud at cruise but does bark a bit if you get into hard.
Note-1,pic shows a brand new better looking more modern design Delkavic 4into in its un-opened original box that for an additional cost can go with the bike. It cost me $430 new & id let it go with the bike for an additional $230 .
Note-2,as can be seen in pic 3(?) I have the original rear hand rail in good cond that go’s with the bike at no cost to install if you want the more original appearance.
Note-3,the black paint is very reflective out in the sun the day I took the pics with the clouds & others things showing in the paint looking like could be defects when it’s not. The paint is in overall very good condition with no large defects to be seen anywhere. The pic of the chain guard has the cement driveway rough surface showing in it making the chrome look terrible when it’s not,the chrome on the chain guard is in good condition for its age,not perfect new but good overall.
The bike starts quick,few mins warmup & runs well from idle thru to wot without any hesitation etc being well sorted because I had it registered on the road.
Theclutch,transmission,brakes,lights,starter ,horn & gauges etc all work as they should.
Bellow I will list what I did to the bike prior to registering it:
• New rear tire & tube including cleaning & repacked rear wheel bearings,front tire has good tread not needing replacement.
• New Higher quality/cca AGM battery.
• Flushed Fr & R master cycl’s & calipers with fresh brake fluid & then bled them.
•Changed the oil & filter.
• Flushed fuel tank & installed a new high quality OEM type petcock.
• Completely disassembled,cleaned & restored the carb’s inc new gaskets,seals,needles & seats & sync/adjustment post re-installing the carbs.
• Installed new rubber intakes & bolts that go between carbs & intake side of the head.
• Installed new fuel lines including inline fuel filters too.
New OEM airfilter.
• Adjusted the valves inc new valve cover gasket.
• Adjusted cam chain.
• Installed a complete new Dyna Electronic Ignition Inc new higher output coils,new plug wires & OEM heat range NGK plugs.
• Cleaned,adjusted & lubed rear drive train.
This bike also has its original airbox & silencer,rear mulholand shocks with correct yellow decals still present,chrome chain gaurd,cast wheels,gauges,Storrage tray for tools & for owners manual in rear tail section too,etc.
Bikes Value,Haggerty Insurance valuation tool shows the kz1000 LTD @ $9,700 book value for a #2 cond which closest matches this bikes cond.(See pics for screen shot of this bikes book value.) For a quick sale (need to make room in the garage) I have the reserve set realistically below its number 2 cond $9,700 book value for a quick sale. It’s a great opportunity for a savvy collector/buyer to get a great running well sorted bike in very good mech/cosmetic cond well below current market/book value.
Payment,a $500deposit is required immediately post auctions end & balance of sale price is due 7 days post auction end in the firm of a bank certified check in my name.
The check must fully clear in my bank account before I sign the title over to new owner & before the bike leaves my possession too.
