Runs beautifully. 20,000 miles on the fully rebuilt 2.1L motor (163,000 on the chassis) and manual 4-speed transmission.
Interior/exterior in great shape, auxiliary battery, 110v power inverter, rope lighting, new upholstery, ARB awning, go Westy steel bumper kit, Thule racks, and tons of mechanical work done over the last six years of my ownership. New engine. New clutch. Rebuilt tranny. She runs like a champ, clean idle, this vehicle is the real deal. Loved like like a family member. Records kept for almost everything, happy to share. No AC, which is not atypical for earlier vans. A few dime sized rust spots, otherwise clean body & undercarriage.
Her name is Stella blue. We’ve trekked across US multiple times, an absolute delight of a van. Most work done by the VW master Coby Smolens at VoltZwagen in Novato. Top to bottom engine rebuild by Tassi. New Catalytic Converter put in from Buslab last month. Smog, registered, clean title in hand. I am the 4th owner. This van is a gem. Sad to see it go. Alas, Gotta new baby here to care for; a new adventure.
