No extra fees, 1-owner Carfax Clean, and a clean title in hand. It lived in Colorado until 2011, when it moved to Arizona. This is a special edition, one-year-only 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited 5.9. This Jeep is 100% factory with no modifications. It features the 5.9k Magnum V8 360 motor, which produces 245 hp and 345 lb.-ft torque, a 9.1:1 compression ratio, making it the world's fastest SUV of its time. 0-60 in 6.8 seconds. The 5.9 Limited is the predecessor to the SRT-8. The factory 5-spoke 16" X 7" wheels match the spare, louvered hood vents, and a special grill. Sculpting a lower roof rack and incorporating ground effects into the rocker panels. skid plated on the bottom, tow hooks on the front, tow hitch on the rear. Infiniti sound system with a sound bar on the rear ceiling, Arizona example with NO RUST.
This is a show Jeep. It has 170k miles but runs like 20k. For this edition, Mopar replaced the 2.5" exhaust with a full 3" system that produces deep vocals, along with a 25% reduction in back pressure and a snazzy chrome tailpipe. The motor has a factory rumble that sounds GREAT. It has great power and runs just like new. I just replaced the rear main seal, oil pan seal, oil filter, oil, and air filter. The transmission shifts perfectly in all gears. Jeep replaced the 44RE transmission with the heavy-duty 46RE for this special edition Jeep, sending power to the full-time Quadra-Trac 4WD, and the low range works just as it should. It has a Dana 44 rear axle with a 3.73:1 limited-slip differential. The air conditioning system has a new receiver, upper a/c hose, and seals. It has passed the A/C leak test and was charged up 2 months ago. It holds the charge just fine. The Carfax shows a lengthy service history from the dealer and a professional repair facility in Arizona.
This Jeep interior is like brand new! This edition's seats are made with calf skin, which extends onto the doors, shifter, and the full length of the center console. It has Agate leather in brand-new condition. Nothing was used to touch up or coat these seats. It smells just like when it came out of the factory. They are heated and power seats. The factory original 8-speaker Infiniti sound system works, but it isn't great. It also has a leather-wrapped steering wheel with volume and channel buttons behind it. It also has a leather-wrapped shifter. 14,000 of these were ordered, and it is said that few really nice examples still exist. I show a picture of a window sticker I found online. This Jeep was $38,000 in 1998.
The body has some chips that have been brush touched. The paint still has a nice shine. The windshield is new.
The Carfax is reporting a mileage inconsistency from when the dealer input it incorrectly a few months ago (see Carfax). The battery was dead, and they just put something in the miles category. The Carfax shows 3 owners, but it is technically 1 owner because the original owner traded it in at a dealership, where I purchased it as a dealer. This Jeep is very special. It has been pampered, and it shows. These are only original once. I love the 5.9 edition. The way they drive, tow, and look is priceless. Shank Auto Transport has shipped my cars for over 20 years.
