Up for sale is my 2002 GMC Sierra SLT 2500 HD, with less than 65k original miles. Truck turns heads whenever I take her out, more so than my old 2004 Mystichrome Cobra oddly enough! Truck has never been tuned; only intake and exhaust, and she sounds amazing. The truck is pre emissions, so no DEF fluid or a cat. Because of this, the mileage is exceptional for a heavy diesel truck.
I am the second owner. I purchased the car from a Oregon dealership that sells high end collectors cars and trucks. Carfax says I’m the third, but the wife had to register in her name before she sold it to a local dealer. I bought the truck from Oregon, and it was there most of it’s life.
The modifications that came w/ the truck was the MBRP exhaust,
and all I did was delete the muffler and get a 5” tip. He also purchased a 62 gallon gas tank; I believe
it is an S&B. I first thought the
gas guage was broken when I bought the truck because the gas light never got on
lol. Wasn’t until I crawled under the
truck to take a look at got my answer. I wanted to see how good the mileage was, so on a road trip I filled up after 500 miles, and I was just over 22 miles per gallon; I was on cruise at 70mpg, just under 2k. I've read that once you're over 2k the mileage will drop a bit. If you were to put her on cruise going 70, you would get approximately 1300 miles on the tank! Also including the goose neck as well as the goose neck/travel trailer tail gate.

The below is all new since I bought the truck less than two
years ago;
33” toyo’s, 17” racelines
Dash cam front and rear that also turns on when car is off
it vibrated; also has a separate back up cam. Paid $2k for this, invoice
attached.
New stereo; apple car play, all new speakers, sub, 5 channel
amp. Just under 4k; invoice attached.
PPF'd the hood after repainting it before doing the custom pin stripe.
S&B air intake.
Tonneau cover.
Remote start w/ back up fab and original key fob. Currently programmed to lock automatically
within 15 seconds of leaving the car. Fob is rechargeable and gives you plenty
of warning before it dies with spread out vibration warnings. Wife lost
spare key, but the stock key fob will still unlock it, it just also turns the
alarm off momentarily. Fob also sounds off if it detects a break in, and will then vibrate until you check it. I have underbody LED lights on that are fully customizable, and the key fob controls this as well; and there is a switch under the dash for you to turn on/off so there is no parasitic drain on the batteries.
Cab lights are wired to go on with parking lights, as are the fog lights; no need to ever press the fog light button. Part of the cab lights also flash when the
signal indicator is on depending on which way you are turning.. Side mirrors
also light up when the truck is in reverse, and the cargo light goes on when
the door is open.
Ceramic tint all around, including 70% on windshield. I made the back darker for my daughter, and also so it doesn't stand out to law enforcement that my front windows are tinted as well as the windshield.
Paid almost 3K when I first got the car to make sure
everything was gone through since it has such low miles and obviously sat a good portion of the time. Replaced all fluids; oil, coolant, break,
both diffs, trans, t case, power steering, including fuel filter etc.
Wife complained the ride was stiff compared to her Audi, so I replaced all the shocks. I also put in two brand new batteries one
month ago, and she sits on a trickle under a cover which is of course included.
For those of you that know about the trucks Achille's heal, the big issue that scares some people when buying an Lb7 is that they were known for having bad injectors. Some trucks can go 300k plus with no issues, and others have had them replaced before 100k. I was informed by the dealer through his late wife, that the previous owner had them replaced by the Special Warranty Extension that GM offered; which was 7 years/200k miles; however not an official recall. She implied he did not get them until the seventh year as he had no issues, but didn't want to have any either! I also had my mechanic run an injector balance rate test on them when I first go the truck so see if I needed to replace them, and they were all in line.
A tell tail sign they are going on is having white or hazy smoke at idle or load, and I have neither. I made several videos to show this. Another sign is if the oil level seems to be getting higher which means that diesel fuel is leaking into the crankcase. I checked the oil regularly to make sure it’s not burning any, but more importantly not getting higher and it reads great. (I also changed the oil with Rotella 5-40 six months ago with the fuel filter again. Other warnings are; misfires, difficulty starting, rough idling, and loss of power, poor mileage, and I have none of those.
Flaws:
Tiny scratch on front and center hood near pin stripe design. I had hood re painted prior to having it pin
striped, and a rock got me on the freeway.
I had it professionally filled/blended, but when I added the PPF, it
lifted the correction and the moron didn’t tell me and just left it. Needless to say they didn't get a good yelp review!
There is a small dent on driver door from mirror being folded in too
hard when I had it valeted last year while out for dinner. I was going to get it fixed, along w/ the hood, but between work and a new baby it hasn't been the top priority sadly.
Tiny rock chip, but I had it professionally filled so it won't spread.
As you can see from the videos, the oil pressure reads high. I had my mechanic check it out and he said it’s
fine, that it's a common problem with early Chevy/GMC trucks where it's a faulty oil pressure sending unit. I was going to have it fixed until I heard how much it was lol. I figured if the truck is fine, it doesn't bother me too much.
I tried to include all known minor issues to be transparent, as I know buying a car/truck site un seen on an auction can be stressful. I've done it many times so I list it as if I was the one buying it. AC blows colder than my 2025 Audi S5, heat is great, transmission shifts smoothly, heated seats both work great, tow haul works great, four wheel drive is great... I can go on and on about how amazing this truck is! Only selling because the parking on my street is horrible so she stays covered on my side yard and I don't use her as much as I'd like. If the auction doesn't hit reserve, I'd be just as happy to keep her. Please note the exceptionally high auto score!!
I live in So Cal, so let me know if anyone is local or wants to fly in to check her out before bidding! I live next to John Wayne airport in Santa Ana and can pick you up. God bless. I'm also including several videos below, simply copy the link and paste it in your browser!
