SALVAGE TITLE –
RECOMMEND FOR PARTS OR EXPORT ONLY
MANUAL TRANSMISSION.
V10 GAS ENGINE. 4X4.
This truck got side
swiped by a Corvette. The toolbox took most of the hit but I had to
get a salvage title to collect on the insurance claim. This truck is
not a good candidate for rebuild without SIGNIFICANT REPAIRS. The
biggest known problems are:
1. Isolated bad body
rust / rot underneath the cab.
2. Badly leaking
exhaust at the driver manifold.
3. Possibly damaged
or bent rear axle from the accident. It rides straight and is
visually fine but I couldn’t get a mechanic willing to look at it.
From front to back:
Ramsy winch is
included but hasn’t worked in years. I took it apart for a bench
test and it failed.
Engine has odd
gimmicky 2nd oil filter installed by first owner. Seems to
work though. Uses a display not a dipstick.
Engine has following
error codes: P0171, P0174, P0307
Passenger exhaust
manifold gasket and bolts were redone maybe 5 years ago and are
holding up well. Driver side exhaust manifold gasket is badly blown
out and should be replaced. I did a patch to get it through
inspection. That patch has since failed.
MANUAL transmission
was replaced maybe 8 years ago and works well. Clutch was redone
maybe 5,000 miles ago and is in fine shape.
Transfer case and
4x4 works good.
Door key only works
on the passenger side. Driver door locks but doesn’t unlock with
the key. You have to go around and reach over.
Bench isn’t too
ripped up and interior is okay. Glove box is broken.
Toolboxes have keys.
The one that got hit currently doesn’t close quite right.
Forestry / Arborist
dump bed is in great shape. The Southco body is very desirable and
has been great to me. There’s little or no rust inside. Some of the
welds that hold the body to the frame broke a long time ago but a ton
of the welds are still good. Electric engine powers it up and down
slow but good.
The frame was
treated with an anti-rust a long time ago that seems to have done a
great job. There is little/no frame rot. This truck has never plowed
or salted.
Rear tires have one
that is mismatched. The bent rim and damaged tire that were on when
the truck was hit are included.
The truck was from
North Carolina originally. I bought it from a dealer who resprayed it
about ten years ago. It has earned good for me. It always starts. It
never overheated. That said it has been doing tree work for 23 years.
Every inch of it is at least a bit beat up. It doesn’t make
business sense for me to spend time on this truck so I’m passing it
on.
Yes it runs /
drives. The videos were taken after the accident. I’ve done my best
to describe everything accurately. I’m hoping to not do showings or
test drives but will answer any questions I might have missed. Must
be picked up in Bethlehem Pennsylvania.
