The Bio-Rad Model 550 is an eight-channel microplate reader designed for absorbance measurements in standard 96-well microplates. The unit shows normal cosmetic wear consistent with prior laboratory use (see listing photos). The unit powers on and operates as expected. Listing photos show the results of a simple test with dyed water samples of increasing intensity to demonstrate optical response. Calibration and TestingThis unit does not include a current calibration certificate. The reader has been tested for power-on, plate reading, and printer operation and was found to be functional. Testing was performed using a clear microplate with water blank wells and dyed water samples at increasing concentrations. The unit produced consistent raw and blank-corrected absorbance results with a logical increase in readings across the dyed samples. Listing photos include the test plate and the corresponding printouts. No guarantee is made that the instrument remains within factory calibration or performance tolerances, and calibration may be required for critical applications.
PackagingThis listing does not include the original box. A printed copy of the Instruction Manual is included. The unit will be carefully packaged with cushioning materials to help ensure safe shipment.
