It has both front and rear detection (dual antennas), and can detect radar and lasers from well over a few miles away.
I can attest as to how well this works, as it has saved my many times. One time I was going north on the I-15 near San Diego and it alerted me to a laser being pointed at me from OVER A MILE AWAY. Plenty of time to adjust and slow my speed. Worth every penny spent!
