The "HSK Standard Course," authorized by Hanban, was jointly developed by Beijing Language and Culture University Press and Chinese Testing International (CTI). Using real HSK test questions as its foundation, the course features a natural and humorous style, familiar topics, and a rigorously designed curriculum, fully aligned with the HSK exam content, format, and level. This innovative Chinese textbook fully embodies the principle of "integrating testing with instruction, using testing to promote learning, and using testing to promote teaching." It is suitable for Confucius Institutes worldwide, other Chinese language teaching institutions, and individual learners.

The complete course is divided into six levels corresponding to the HSK exam: one volume for each of Levels 1-3 and two volumes for each of Levels 4-6, for a total of nine volumes. Each volume consists of a textbook, a workbook, and a teacher's book, for a total of 27 books.

This book, the "HSK Standard Course 5, Part 1 Workbook," is designed to be used in conjunction with the "HSK Standard Course 5, Part 1" and includes accompanying exercises for all 18 lessons. The appendix also provides an introduction to the HSK (Level 5) exam. This book will not only help learners pass the HSK Level 5 exam, but will also comprehensively improve their Chinese language skills and proficiency.
