Agate geodes are a geological formation within sedimentary and volcanic rocks. They are hollow, vaguely spherical rocks, in which masses of mineral matter have been isolated. The crystals are formed by filling in the holes within the rock with these minerals. Agate geode crystals are usually composed of quartz or chalcedonic deposits, but various other minerals such as calcite, celestite and dolomite are also commonly found within other varieties of geodes. These agate crystals are from Brazil.
Agate is thought to help with effective communications skills and is believed to be good for the nervous system.
