It provides eight additional programmable I/O pins for applications, enabling seamless protocol conversion from IC bus/SPI to ,232/-485, and is fully bidirectional. The SC161S752 only supports SPI clock speeds of 4 Mbit/s, and it supports IrDA up to 1.152 Mbit/s. SIR allows software to reset the UART at any time independently of the hardware reset signal.
