Replaced Components
The 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade is built with the following suspension components: 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade Air/Magnetic Shocks (x2)- shocks that contain an air bladder or magnets whose dampening capabilities is controlled by the suspension control module. 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade Coil Springs (x4)- Coil springs hold the vehicle up but be careful, they are rated for and designed to work with the rest of the suspension system, so when you change air shocks to passive shocks, then you will need a different rated coil spring that works well with the new type of shocks. 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade Torsion Bar- Adjustable horizontal bar on the front of the vehicle that holds the vehicle off the ground torsion bar. 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade Shock Absorbers (x2)- a metal tubing filled with gas-charged hydraulic fluid that is connected to the wheel of a vehicle in order to reduce the effects of vertical travel on a rough surface which controls the bounciness, and therefore comfort, of a vehicle. 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade Air Lines- tubes that run from a compressor (air suspension) to the air struts which carry pressurized air to the air bags components in order to adjust the height of the vehicle, respectively. 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade Solenoids (x4)- usually L-shaped, these plastic components connect the electrical connection and lines of suspension components to the suspension control module on vehicles with active suspension. The solenoid regulates the air pressure for each air spring. Solenoids start to leak as they wear out causing the vehicle to sag or to lean. This will cause the ride height sensor to send a signal to activate the compressor in an attempt to inflate the air suspension and level out the vehicle. This excessive work load will eventually lead to total failure of the compressor. 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade Compressor- creates/sends pressurized to active suspension components. When the air suspension starts leaking, the compressor/pump starts working harder to try to keep the system inflated. By the time air suspension leaks down completely, sitting the vehicle on its tires, the compressor will either have failed or be well on its way to full failure. Buying replacement struts and taking the time to install them only to find out the compressor still needs to be replaced can be very frustrating, time-consuming, and expensive. 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade Dryer Assembly- uséd to keep moisture out of air lines and air springs in order to prevent freezing and internal cracking of these parts. Once air suspension starts leaking, moisture will build-up throughout the air system. Moisture damages the air suspension from the inside. The dryer will need to be replaced in order to eliminate the moisture and prevent any further damage. 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade Suspension Control Module- a computer which is responsible for the operations of the air suspension system and maintaining the vehicle's correct ride height. 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade O-rings- Although they are the least expensive parts of the air suspension, they are responsible for maintaining the seal where all of the air lines connect. Be sure to replace the O-rings when repairing any air suspension system.
Suspension Failure Signs
If the 2007-2014 Cadillac Escalade is unable to reach and maintain its proper ride height, the air suspension system may be leaking or going bad. Look for these classic signs of a failed suspension system. The most noticeable is a sudden uneven height difference between different sides of the Escalade. The front or rear will sag while the opposite end will remain inflated. The Escalade may appear to be ‚"squatting‚" down. There might be a shifting lean from one side to the other. If these imbalances are present and not fixed promptly, the air compressor will wear out. Once the air compressor goes bad, from working too hard, a suspension warning light will turn on in the instrument cluster. At this point, suspension total failure has occurred. An expensive direct replacement or repair is the only way to resolve the problem.
OEM Replacement Cost
'+ Rear Shocks ($396/Rear Shocks) + Coil Spring ($86/Coil Spring) + Compressor and Dryer Assembly ($270) = TOTAL: Over $1,320 (and that doesnt even include replacing electronic components that are known to fail such as the height sensors).
Why Strutmasters
The original air suspension system on the Cadillac Escalade is made up of complicated electrical components that must always function in sync. When one part stops working, the entire system is defunct. Strutmasters' air to non-air suspension conversion kit eliminates this dilemma for good. The kit, made in America, includes two pre-assembled front strut assemblies with cold-wound steel coil springs. Strutmasters offers the only kits on the market that come with springs. They provide an excellent quality ride. Designed to save time and frustration, the kit is installed in as little as one hour per wheel. ASE certified experts and installation videos available online help ensure our customers receive all the repair support they need. If that's not enough, take a look at the price difference between the following options: direct replacement at the Cadillac dealership, individual aftermarket air part replacement, and installation of a Strutmasters air to non-air suspension conversion kit. The low price is what seals the deal for most of our customers.OEM Numbers
