“For sale is a 1931 Ford Hi-Boy Late Model Steel Body Roadster, a true collector's piece that's been meticulously cared for and is in excellent condition. This roadster has never been in the rain and has always run on non-ethanol gas, using an Edelbrock #1403 carburetor with an electric choke and high zinc & phosphorus oil to maintain engine health. Since being purchased in 2014, it has been driven a total of 4,704 miles, with the odometer currently showing 12,259 miles. It’s all-original with no fiberglass patches and has never been in a wreck. The car is a second-owner vehicle, purchased directly from the original builder in Colorado. When purchased, it didn’t have a convertible top, but in 2016, a top and stainless-steel hardware were professionally installed. Since installation, the top has never been down. The body is all steel, and the car still rides on its original Excelsior Radial tires (5.50x16 front, 7.50x16 rear). The engine shroud along with door and trunk panels are custom aluminum, and the seats are comfortable vinyl bucket seats. Stewart Warner Wing gauges, including the oil pressure gauge (showing 45 psi at idle), are in perfect working order, and the car features removable aluminum engine side panels. The gas tank is made of aluminum and sits in the trunk with custom paneling surrounding it. The car is also equipped with a new “red top” Optima battery (installed in 2024, with the original lasting until then), original Guide headlights, and a chrome front end with ladders bars. The braking system includes disc brakes on the front and drum brakes on the rear, with a newly replaced master cylinder. Additionally, it has a Firestone Supreme 3-port heater for comfort and a battery cut-off switch located in the trunk. Under the hood, the car is powered by an early year Corvette engine with double hump heads, very low mileage, and it has had several recent maintenance updates, including a new transmission filter and gasket, output shaft bushing, seal, and rear-end pinion seal. All fluids have been changed, and the driveshaft has been replaced. The paint is a stunning PPG MTK18445A Strong Matte Blue. There is a small transmission oil leak caused by a nick on the tail shaft yoke, which is estimated to cost around $150 to repair. This roadster is a standout example of classic automotive craftsmanship, combining vintage charm with modern care and upgrades.
