1951 Chevrolet 3100 Custom Short-Bed Pickup
350 Small Block Chevy | 700R4 Overdrive | TCI Mustang II Front End | Power Steering | Custom Steel Bed | Black Walnut and White Oak Bed Floor
Up for sale is a beautifully built 1951 Chevrolet 3100 custom short-bed pickup finished in a clean light gray exterior with a custom blue interior. This is a sharp, finished custom truck with classic Advance Design Chevrolet styling and the right modern upgrades to make it enjoyable, usable, and reliable as a street cruiser.
This truck is not being represented as a factory-original restoration or numbers-matching truck. It is a custom-built classic pickup designed to be driven, shown, and enjoyed. It has the vintage look everyone loves, but with the drivetrain, suspension, steering, interior, and fabrication upgrades that make it far more practical than a stock early-1950s pickup.
Power comes from a 350 small-block Chevy V8 with an Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock valve covers, Holley Street Demon carburetor, and aftermarket air cleaner. It is paired with a 700R4 automatic overdrive transmission, which makes the truck much more comfortable for cruising and highway driving than an older non-overdrive setup. The rear end is a 1971 Camaro 10-bolt, giving the truck a proven, serviceable, and easy-to-maintain drivetrain package.
The chassis has been substantially updated. The truck started life as a long-bed and was converted to the more desirable short-bed 3100-style configuration. The original frame was cut, shortened, boxed, and reinforced as part of the build. Up front, it has a TCI Mustang II-style independent front suspension with power steering, giving the truck a much more modern driving feel than the original 1951 suspension and steering setup.
One of the standout features of the truck is the custom bed. The bed is built from 1/8-inch steel and features a tubbed rear setup, smooth bed sides, lined inner surfaces, custom rear lighting, and a beautiful hardwood floor made from black walnut and white oak. The rear fenders are normal width, but the bed has been properly tubbed to work with the rear tire setup and give the truck a strong street-truck stance. The fuel tank has also been relocated to the rear under the bed, which is a major improvement over the original in-cab tank setup.
The interior is clean, custom, and very usable. It features a blue custom-painted dash, updated gauges, bucket seats, center console, double-DIN stereo with Apple CarPlay, diamond-plate cab floor and lower panels, updated steering column, Lecarra-style steering wheel, direct-mount Lokar shifter, wireless electric door locks, sliding rear window, two-tone door panels, and rubber floor mats. It still feels like a classic truck, but with the comfort and functionality most buyers want in a finished custom build.
The truck sits on Goodyear Cobra tires with a staggered setup: 215/70R15 front and 255/70R15 rear. The tire and wheel combination gives it the right look without being overdone. The stance is clean, planted, and exactly what you want on a custom early-1950s Chevy pickup.
Overall, this is a sharp, finished custom classic truck that presents extremely well. The gray exterior, chrome grille, polished wheels, blue interior, custom steel bed, hardwood floor, small-block Chevy drivetrain, overdrive transmission, Mustang II front suspension, and power steering all work together to make this a very appealing street cruiser.
This is the kind of truck you can take to a local show, cars and coffee, weekend cruise, or just enjoy as a clean custom driver. It is not a project truck, but it is also not being sold as a concours trailer queen or factory-correct restoration. It is a modified vintage vehicle, and buyers are encouraged to review the photos carefully, ask questions, and arrange an in-person or third-party inspection before purchase.

Condition and Seller Notes
The truck presents very well in person and in photos. The paint has good shine, the chrome grille shows beautifully, the interior is clean, and the custom bed work is a major highlight. The truck has the right combination of classic Chevy style and modern drivability.
As with any modified vintage vehicle, it should be inspected and evaluated by the buyer. It is being sold as a custom classic driver, not as a factory-original restoration. Serious buyers are welcome to ask questions or request additional photos.
