1972 Chevrolet Blazer CST. This is a good running and driving 72 Blazer that can be driven daily, but it does need additional work to be show quality. The body is solid and almost rust free, but the paint is horrible. The Blazer was originally Bronze according to the glovebox data sheet. It was painted yellow several years ago. I have been an EBay member since 2016 and have over 1300 positive feedbacks and no negative strikes. I'm 85 years old and purchased the Blazer as a restoration project. I have a 1948 Chevrolet five window pickup that I'm restoring, and at this point in my life, I can't do both the Blazer and the Pickup. I highly value my feedback score on EBay and with that issue in mind, I will detail both the positive and negative aspects of my 1972 Blazer.
First, the positive: The 1972 Blazer is an Utah vehicle and has very little rust. The body is straight with no accident history. The Blazer sat for outside for over a decade and the original engine was bad. I replaced it was a smooth running Chevrolet 350 Chevrolet Vortex engine. The transmission and drivetrain are original and work properly. The interior is in good useable condition. There is a small split in the driver's seat and the rear bench seat has an aftermarket cover. The floors are dry and rust free. The removable top is in good condition, and the rear window and tailgate open and close properly. All the tires hold air but are old and weathered. As I mentioned, you can currently drive the Blazer. It stops and shifts properly and has plenty of power from the 350 Vortex engine.
Second, the negative aspects: The Blazer was originally bronze in color, but was painted yellow with a white trim. The paint job was poorly done and looks bad. There is a dent on the passenger's side that was repaired with Bondo. I chipped some of the Bondo off, and fortunately found solid, rust free metal underneath. The original engine was frozen and I couldn't get the valves or pistons to move. I replaced the engine with a 350 Vortex V8 and it starts easily and runs good. The Blazer sat unused for many years. I installed a new gas tank, rebuilt the carburetor, and replaced the transmission cooling lines. The Blazer has been cleaned and is useable. The dash pad is bad, and some of the electrical items need attention. I replaced the windshield, and all of the glass is good. The door windows roll up and down, but it is missing one window crank.
Please look closely at all of the photos, and if you have any questions, please give me a call. My name is Bob, and my number is (801) 745-5835. I live in the mountains of Utah, and I will keep the Blazer securely stored until pick up is arranged.
If you have less than Five feedbacks on EBay, please call or message me before bidding. I want this to be a good striaghtforward auction with no monkey business. I prefer a bank wire transfer. I bank at Wells Fargo in Ogden, Utah.
