**Engine and Performance:**
Under the hood, this Jensen Healey is powered by the renowned 2.0-liter Lotus 907 Twin-Cam 4-cylinder engine, delivering approximately 140-145 horsepower. This engine, designed by the legendary Colin Chapman of Lotus, features dual overhead cams and 16 valves, providing a thrilling driving experience. The car accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in just 8.1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 119 mph, showcasing its impressive performance capabilities.
**Transmission and Handling:**
This particular model is equipped with the desirable 5-speed Getrag manual gearbox, a rare and sought-after option for the 1974 Mark II. Unlike the earlier 4-speed units, the Getrag 235/5 offers a direct 1:1 ratio in fifth gear, enhancing the driving dynamics and making it a true driver's car. The independent front suspension, derived from Vauxhall, and the live rear axle ensure a balanced and responsive ride.
**Design and Features:**
The Jensen Healey Mark II is a luxurious roadster that sits comfortably between the E-Type Jaguar and the Triumph TR6 in the market. Its design features a long-wheelbase body, providing both aesthetic appeal and improved stability. The exterior is finished in a unique color, adding to its exclusivity. The car is equipped with "roulette" alloy wheels and an optional factory hardtop, enhancing its versatility and style.
**Interior and Comfort:**
Inside, the Mark II offers a more luxurious interior compared to its predecessors. The dashboard is adorned with wood grain trim, and the glove box is padded for added comfort. Aesthetic and luxury extras, such as a clock and optional air conditioning, were introduced in August 1973, making this model a more refined choice for discerning drivers.
**Heritage and Racing Pedigree:**
The Jensen Healey has a storied history in motorsports, having won the Sports Car Club of America D Production Championship in its first year of racing in 1973. It remains one of the few cars in SCCA history to achieve such a feat, capturing five SCCA national "D" production championships. This racing pedigree adds to the car's allure and makes it a prized possession for collectors and enthusiasts alike.
**Production and Rarity:**
This 1974 model is part of the Mark II production run, which spanned from August 1973 to August 1975, with only 7,142 units manufactured. Its VIN #19176 places it within this exclusive group, making it a rare find in today's market.
In summary, the 1974 Jensen Healey Mark II Roadster offered by West Coast Classics is a remarkable example of British engineering and design. Its combination of performance, luxury, and racing heritage makes it a special and exotic classic car, perfect for collectors and enthusiasts seeking a unique piece of automotive history. Don't miss the opportunity to own this exceptional vehicle.

The Jensen Healey is a British roadster launched in 1972 as a luxurious and convertible sports car and positioned in the market between theE-Type Jaguar and Triumph TR6.
With production of the Austin Healey ending in 1967 Donald Healey and Jensen Motors developed a joint venture to develop a unitary body understructure, designed by Barry Bilbie, who had been responsible for the Austin Healey 100, 100-6, 3000 and the Bug Eye Sprite.
Early cars (1973-1974.5) were fitted with two-piece steel-and-chrome bumpers originally designed for the Jensen-Healey with the later models using the ugly and large redesigned black rubber bumpers to comply with US government regulations and meet the new 5-mph crash standard.
The European models contained dual side-draught twin-throat DHLA carbs with those exported to the United States bosting dual side-draught single-throat CD175 Zenith Strombergs.
The early models had a four-speed unit but he Mk 2 models used the desirable Getrag 235/5 five-speed sports car gearbox that was optional (but rare), such as this particular model boasts! The fifth gear was not an O/D gear but a direct 1:1 ratio.
The Jensen-Healey interiors started out as purely functional, with plastic consoles and furnished in black or brown.
In August 1973, aesthetic and luxury extras such as a clock, wood grain on the dashboard and glove-box and padding as well as optional air conditioning were added.
The legendary Colin Chapman of Lotus provided the new 1973 cc Lotus 907 dual Overhead Cam 16 valve all alloy engine with 144HP maxing out at 119 mph and accelerating from zero to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds.
Jensen Motors ran a factory team to compete in the Sports Car Club of America D Production Championship, put together by California based Huffaker Engineering. The Jensen-Healey went on to become one of the few cars in SCCA history to win a championship in its first year of racing (1973). The roadster also, uniquely in Sports Car Club of America history, captured five SCCA national "D" production championships.
This 1974 model is a Mk II, which included a more luxurious interior and improved reliability over early 1972-73 models and featured a distinct long-wheelbase body, often with a wood-trimmed dashboard and equipped with "roulette" alloy wheels and an optional factory hardtop, such as this particular example can boast!
