Legendary 1979 Honda CBX 1000, 6 cylinders 1000cc. Clean Maryland title in seller's name. Full restomod completed in 2026 and garaged since. Work done by seller so feel free to ask questions. Out of all his motorcycle builds, this is the one the seller is most proud of. Many hours of work in the restoration. Ready to ride: new tires (200 miles), ultrasonic cleaned carbs (non-ethanol only), new o-ring drive chain, and valves adjusted. Great modern upgrades: Pipemaster 6-in-6 exhaust (no longer in business), GSXR forks/front controls, Brembo brakes, Daytona Velona Gauges, Antigravity lithium battery/regulator, HELLA horns, LED headlight/turn signals, brake lights, blade fuse conversion, 81/82 wiring harness for better spark unit compatibility. Tank painted May 2026 in Interstate Black with Dragonfire color shifting stripe (maroon to gold). Other custom work: painted engine/frame/wheels, power coated underseat box for electronics, lithium regulator mounted for adequate airflow in front of box, power coated underframe battery box, gauge mounts, ignition mount, rear turn signal mounts, gel seat in Alcantara (can support 2 riders), 2 x custom K&N air filters (Tims CBX), powder coated rear caliper and master cylinder. Alternator plates leveled to fix common charging issue. Many parts on the bike have been vapor-blasted/sand-blasted/powder coated/painted or brand new. Includes list of all purchased parts.
Other parts that are new: Pingel fuel valve with filter, K&N inline fuel filter, stage 3 jet kit, intake boots, rear shocks, ignition, right oil cooler hose, D8EA spark plugs, front left brake line, rear brake line, ignition coils, battery cable, master cylinder rebuild kit, rear brake caliper rebuild kit, starter solenoid, LED flasher relay, blue sea systems blade fuse block, front wheel bearings, breather tube, carb fuel connectors, carb vent hose lines, bar end mirrors, and oil/oil filter.
25,000 miles on title but mileage unknown and likely lower. 233 miles on the new odometer. No oil leaks. There are fuel tubes that come down from the carbs that after you stop - those will have a drop or two which is normal because of the heat. The speedometer is in the process of being calibrated so it should be in good shape by the close of the auction. The paint on the tank has a bit of orange peel that has not been sanded/buffed/polished after 2K clearcoat. There are a few spots on the engine that need only a little touchup paint from Dupli-Color DE1615 Engine Enamel Paint. Side kickstand is a bit short to prevent tip over, so I usually put a small block under it to keep it more upright since it doesn't have a center stand. I'd recommend this for all the DOHCs anyway if there is no center stand to prevent oil from building on the left side of the engine.
