This is a 1990 Volkswagen Vanagan Carat, Weekender package (the rear seat folds down into a bed). Original features included: 5-Speed manual transmission, power windows and door locks (yes they still work), A/C, & Wasserboxer 4-cylinder engine. Winner of multiple car show awards! This Vanagon has been completely restored from top to bottom, front to back, inside and out. 230,000 miles on the odometer, but there isn't much that hasn't been replaced within the last 3 years. Cosmetically and mechanically it is a complete package, with over $50,000 worth of cosmetic work, mechanical improvements, and aftermarket upgrades. The only imperfection is a 2-3" size ding at the back right corner bumper from backing into a rock at local trailhead - many tears were shed. This is shown in the last listing picture. This can probably be touched up for a couple hundred dollars to make it hardly noticeable. This van is a pleasure to drive, with all the work that has been done it drives incredibly smooth, offers a nice quite ride, and has plenty of power to conquer the hills and freeway. Sad to see it go, but I have too many vehicles and need to clear some garage space.
