1^st Grade Readers Multi-Level Reading Library #1 – 23 Homeschool Books

Help your child learn to read with this 1^st Grade Multi-Level Reading Library organized according to the Fountas & Pinnell Guided Reading System.

Unlike many random collections of kindergarten books, each Library contains Fountas & Pinnell readers at E-J reading levels. Each level has a mixture of fiction and non-fiction readers. As children progress through each level, they are introduced to more challenging vocabulary, sentence structure, and reading concepts.

This Library is ideal for homeschool families, classroom teachers, and tutors looking to supplement beginning reading instruction.

The 1^st Grade Library includes the following:

Level E

• Longer stories featuring realistic fiction, fantasy, and simple nonfiction
• More challenging vocabulary, dialogue, and punctuation
• Moderate picture support while relying more on the printed text

Level F

• Longer texts introducing broader themes and ideas beyond everyday experiences
• Greater variety of vocabulary and sentence structure
• Fiction, fantasy, folktales, and informational books that encourage deeper thinking.

Level G

• Following longer stories with multiple characters and events
• Reading increasingly challenging vocabulary and sentence structure
• Using text, along with illustrations, to understand more complex stories and information

Level H

• Read stories with less repetition and greater variety of genres
• Interpret characters, story events, and informational texts with less picture support
• Build comprehension through more detailed plots and richer vocabulary

Level I

• Longer stories featuring multiple events, dialogue, and more complex vocabulary
• Increased emphasis on understanding characters, plot, and meaning from the text itself
• Greater independence reading fiction, folktales, and informational books

Level J

• Early chapter books with longer stories and sustained reading
• Richer vocabulary, longer sentences, and more complex plots
• Greater interpretation of characters, events, and new multi-syllable words
