A Solid Flywheel Conversion Kit is used to convert a vehicle originally equipped with a dual mass flywheel to a solid flywheel. It is a popular and cost-saving conversion because dual mass flywheels are expensive to replace, can't be resurfaced, and need to be replaced every time you replace your clutch. Once you have converted your vehicle over to a solid flywheel, you likely won't have to replace the flywheel again (since they typically don't wear out) or you would have the option to get it resurfaced.
