2003 Ford Ranger XLT 2wd - Please Read Full Description:
This vehicle is not currently running well enough to be street worthy and will need to be trailered out of here. I think it will either need a new engine or a ECU and to be recalibrated as it seems like its on limp mode now and throwing no codes. The body is just as in good condition as it looks with new tires, rims, and front brakes from 2019, it runs but very poorly. It is complete with all parts installed. Replaced parts are: new NGK coil, wires, and plugs, new fuel pump, new fuel filter, new mass airflow sensor, new idle air control valve, PVC breather tube, cam synchronizer, yet none of this helped. ECU replaced but taken out and returned as that didn't help or wasn't done correctly. ABS and Anti theft light are illuminated. Will start but runs horribly and A/c compressor squeaks badly. A compression test showed that 4 cylinders are at 145 psi, 1 at 125 psi and 1 at 100 psi, with the 2 bad psi tests on the passenger side. I highly doubt it's the head gasket as the fluids look okay and it doesn't overheat. I think the valves are not seating or maybe stuck, also the lower cats were cleaned but the upper 3 cats on the y pipe were not looked at yet. I think it will need new cylinder heads, timed, and new ECU professionally recalibrated, that would be my guess. It's very confusing since the code reader I used didn't pull any codes yet it runs awful. Selling this as a parts or repair truck with excellent condition chassis and body, interior is pretty good as well with only blemish being ripped driver seat and needs cleaned up.
