2011 Silverado Crew Cab 2500 HD Four Wheel Drive
This was my daughters truck for the last year of high school and through college. She has now graduated and is getting ready to enter grad school in August. So, Dad decided to be sure it was solid to be away since the university is in a location that get about 35 inches of snow each year.
In the last few weeks (less than 250 miles) it has had fresh oil change, full inspection, four wheel alignment, four new tires and the factory oil pressure gauge was not working, so it now has a mechanical gauge. The factory gauge reads ZERO, so the idiot light stays on, but the new gauge shows great oil pressure. You can get the computer reprogramed to permanently shut off the dumbo light, but I did not do that.
The truck does have 327,581 miles on the clock. However, it had a Jasper remanufactured engine installed at around 165K by the previous owner (company maintained truck). I have owned it since 2020 at 278K miles. At about 285K I had the transmission rebuilt.
The truck also had new catalytic convertors, rebuilt frontend (control arms, ball joints and tie rod ends), after market permanent air intake and filter, new alternator, battery, water pump, and plugs and wires in the last two years. In summary, it is a very solid truck that's far better than one would expect from the miles! There is one thing left. The driver's seat is worn and stitched along the edge. I bought a new seat upholstery cove, but did not get around to putting it on. So, as they say on Saturday morning cartoons, "YOU GET TO PUT IT TOGETHER"!!
So, I get it already to feel she's safe to go away with her beloved truck, why sell it??
After all the preparations, I found a VERY NICE 2021 F250 with only 27,000 miles and couldn't resist! She loved her Chevy, but I like my 4 Ford Super Duty trucks. I was a hard sell, but I managed to convince her that she really can drive a Ford. The last photo is not the Silverado painted grey, but the new Ford......
I have had a few Chevys over the years, and they are great trucks too! If you can find a better, more reliable 2500, buy it. If not, buy this one and drive for a long time with all the major repairs up to date. Thanks for looking. Dad.
