Brake Caliper Installation Steps:
1.Lift the Vehicle:
Use a tire wrench to loosen the nut on the tire, then use a jack to lift the vehicle off the ground. Secure the vehicle with a jack stand.
2.Remove the Tire:
Use a tire wrench to remove the nut, then remove the tire from the vehicle.
3.Remove the Caliper Mounting Bolts:
Use a brake caliper removal tool to remove the mounting bolts securing the caliper.
4.Remove the Caliper:After removing the mounting bolts, gently pry the caliper off the brake disc. Be careful not to damage the brake lines when removing the caliper.
5.Install the New Caliper:
Install the new caliper onto the brake disc and secure it in place with the caliper mounting bolts. Use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to the manufacturer's recommended torque value.
6.Install the Tire:
Reinstall the tire and nut, tighten to the specified torque, then lower the vehicle off the jack stand.
7.Bleed Air from the Braking System:
Use a brake system bleed tool to remove air from the brake system. This is an important step to ensure the brake system is functioning properly. Continuously add brake fluid during the bleed process.
8.Test the Braking System:
After the brake calipers are installed and the brake system has been bled, test the brake system to ensure it is functioning correctly.
