Cleaning Method:
- Remove the oxygen sensor and use 5-10% ferric chloride solution to add excess hydrochloric acid. The ratio depends on the surface of the sensor head. Soak the oxygen sensor in the solution, take it out after 10-15 minutes, rinse with water, not only the four surrounding holes should be unobstructed, but from the bottom, the carrier inside is white after washing.
- If the cleaning is not satisfactory, continue this work until the white carrier can be seen.
- After rinsing with water, install the sensor and repeat the fourth step of the measurement. Generally speaking, as long as it is not a sensor from a subsidiary factory, as long as the internal porcelain body does not burst, and the heating resistor does not open, the oxygen sensor that has been cleaned above can return to normal operation.
Replacement Steps:
Step 1. Drive the vehicle onto the lift, turn off the engine and raise the vehicle.
Step 2. Find and determine the location of the oxygen sensor.
Step 3. Remove the oxygen sensor plug protection cover and unplug the oxygen sensor plug.
Step 4. Use a wrench to directly unscrew the oxygen sensor that needs to be replaced.
Step 5. Install the new oxygen sensor in the original position.
Step 6. Connect to the computer, eliminate the fault code, and choose to read the engine data stream to check whether each value is normal.
