National Instruments USB-4431 Sound and Vibration Device
The USB-4431 (Part Number: 780164-01) from National Instruments is a dynamic Sound and Vibration Device that features 4 analog input channels and 1 analog output channel. By utilizing IEPE sensors, the NI USB-4431
delivers high accuracy measurements with an analog input dynamic range
of 100 dB. The four pseudodifferential analog input channels of the
device have a sample rate range that measures from 1 kS/s up to 102.4
kS/s simultaneously. With a maximum power consumption of 2.5 W, the USB-4431 sound and vibration device is an excellent choice for portable test applications- such as frequency response audio tests.
The channels of the NI USB-4431 device
are each equipped with 1 BNC input connector and 24 bits of ADC
resolution. The analog output of the device boasts a frequency range of
DC to 43.5 kHz, and it is safeguarded against damage with indefinite
short circuit protection capabilities. The USB-4431 offers an input range up to ±10V, as well as input protection of ±60V.
This Sound and Vibration Device
also has a single output channel, with a resolution of 24-bits, and 1
BNC signal connector. The output signal range of the analog output
channel is ±3.5V. This model additionally provides an uncertain short
circuit protection. The value of the minimum working load for this
channel is 1 kΩ and the output resistance is 50 kΩ. This device has an
immense range of analysis capabilities, including Power Spectra, Zoom
FFTs, and Fractional-Octave analysis.
In addition to analog input and analog output, the NI USB-4431
is equipped with digital I/O lines for start or reference trigger
importing. Compatible with 5V TTL (transistor - transistor logic), these
lines offer +5.6 V/–0.5 V of input protection.
By using the NI-DAQmx driver software, the NI USB-4431
is compatible with software packages including LabVIEW, Measurement
Studio, and LabWindows. Measuring physical dimensions of 142 mm × 180 mm
× 38 mm (5.6 in. × 7.1 in. × 1.5 in.) and weighing in at 675 g (1.5
lbs), the USB-4431 sound and vibration device has a recommended temperature range of –30 °C to 70 °C for both operation and storage.
