Vintage Unicomp On-The-Stick Model M mechanical keyboard with integrated pointing stick and buckling spring key switches. This is the 104-key Windows variant with the original wavy Win95 logo keys. Tested and fully working. Yellowing from age.
What This Is
The On-The-Stick was Unicomp's pointing-stick-equipped Model M, based on the M13 chassis tooling they inherited from Lexmark. Discontinued in 2008 and replaced by the EnduraPro, making the OTS noticeably less common on the secondary market than its successor.
Condition
- Functionality: 100% tested and working. Every buckling spring key registers with the authentic tactile click. Both mouse buttons and the pointing stick are operational.
- Aesthetics: Yellowing on the case and some keycaps, consistent with age. No cracks, no broken tabs, no missing keycaps. Keycap legends are sharp and clearly readable.
- Branding: "Model M +5v UNICOMP" molded into the rear case. Original Unicomp LED overlay present and intact.
- Cables: Dual PS/2 cables (keyboard + pass-through for mouse) in good condition with no fraying at either end.
Pointing Stick Note — Please Read
This uses Unicomp's FSR (Force Sensing Resistor) pointing stick, not the IBM TrackPoint II found on ThinkPads. The two look similar but behave differently. The FSR stick physically moves slightly under pressure rather than staying stationary. This is normal and original to the design.
