 Offered is this wonderful piece of audio history designed and manufactured by the legend himself, Stewart Hegeman.

He was a bit of a rockstar in his time, a hired gun for some of the time’s most respected audio companies. 

 This was one of his latest creations and was competitive with Mark Levinson,  M.A Cotter McIntosh and Marantz, Etc.  back then. 

It is high resolution and has smooth quality to its sound. It was proclaimed one of the best available preamplifiers in its time according to a 1977 issue of the Audio Critic.

 It was just fully serviced, all of its capacitors tested as new, its (very high quality) controls cleaned, lubricated and tested.

 Its phono stage was tested with a reverse riaa unit and it performed within +/-.25 dB across the audio band.

It was listened to over a week and has flawless operation and sonics.

The only issue that was found was one electrically loose output connector ( if wiggled, the right channel of main out 2 would cut out, but if not disturbed it would play.most sellers and technicians  likely wouldn’t check for such a thing, let alone disclose it). This unit has two outputs so this shouldn’t be an issue for most users.

Also, a previous owner installed a custom phono loading potentiometer. In addition to the stock 47Kohm input it is variable from 10KOhm  to 20Kohm. And can be enabled/ disabled via an interior switch.
