Exterior
Robin egg blue paint covers this all-steel car with gaps that are good. The chrome is very good, from the front bumper, swept back grille and tear drop spotlights to the stainless side moldings, and rear bumper. All badging is present and accounted for and looks excellent. Wheel covers are chrome full cover style over red painted steel wheels.
Interior
Clean tan cloth with red piping abounds on the interior. Vinyl door panels present with horizontal chrome trim along with chrome bezels for the chrome door handle and window crank. The cream and red metal dash houses the instruments. The cream colored banjo steering wheel with chrome spokes is large and houses the parking and headlamp switch. There is a 12V radio under the dash for your daily cruising as well as a 12v accessory and USB port adapter. Clean tan carpeting on the rear floors and black vinyl on the front floors with a tight tan broadcloth headliner. There is a working 12v heater/defroster located in the interior for those cool spring or fall cruises. The windshield wipers are vacuum operated so don’t expect much in the rain!
Drivetrain
Under the hood is a red 85 hp, 239 ci Flathead V8 trimmed out with chrome pieces. It has a Stromberg 97, 2-barrel carburetor with chrome sporty air cleaner atop and a manual choke on the 2 bbl carb. A 3-speed manual transmission is on back of flathead and sends power to a enclosed 3.78 geared rear axle. This car has been converted to a 12v electrical system throughout!
Trunk
A large finished trunk with spare tire is clean and ready to load your luggage, cooler and chairs for a casual drive or a evening cruise.
Undercarriage
This undercarriage is clean as the pictures show, always garage kept!! This undercarriage shows no rust anywhere!! Transverse leaf spring suspension along with hydraulic drum brakes are seen both front and back. A dual exhaust system with Smithy mufflers gives this a nice throaty sound.
Drive-Ability
This car is a sweetheart to drive, it will cruise at 65 mph down the highway or interstate as it will hold a nice 180 degrees on the temperature gauge. Pull the manual choke, pump the gas pedal twice and it starts as it is ready to go!! The hydraulic drum brakes stop this car as you would expect any 87 year old car to stop, no power disk brakes here! This car is a pleasure to drive and a car that still has the looks necessary to draw all the ooohhs and ahhhs from passersby. Clean styling, tasteful chrome, drivability and a clean interior all work together to make for one deluxe Ford Deluxe. This car has won multiple awards at local cruise-ins and car shows!!
