So you want to have the coolest car on your block....actually in your entire state, here is your chance! One-off 1964 Falcon sedan, and this is not your Grandma's "go to the grocery store" car. This is definitely a unique '64 Falcon. Starting with a very nice two-door Sedan, the altered wheelbase F/X look of the factory experimental Funny Cars had begun to take shape. The rear wheel wells were moved forward 11", the front ended up 6 1/2" forward from the stock location. Built by SS/AFX guru Greg Fernald the professionally restored body was shot in a Custom blend Orange mixed with pearl to achieve just the right look.
Speedway 4" dropped tube axle setup with parallel leaf springs, Wilwood front disc brakes. Flaming River 'Vega' manual steering box makes driving an ease. Rear end is a 9" Ford with Strange axles and Aluminum center section, 4:56 Posi gears. Parallel leaf springs with Calvert rear shocks hold the rear end in place, Wilwood disc brakes helps show this asphalt flyer down. 100% all stainless steel Ryan Linden exhaust front to rear using Magnaflux mufflers with an electronic cutout system. Real Rodders Wheels spindle mount front mag wheels shod with Firestone 6.70-15 DeLuxe Champion tires. Rear rubber are 'Pie Crust' 10:00 Firestone street slicks mounted on Real Rodders Wheels to match the fronts for the A/FX look and feel.
The Falcon's power is put to the road with an aluminum 427 FE big block topped with Head Service matched ported aluminum heads. "Imagine Injection" electronic fuel injection with Hilborn style injection tubes, covered with screens so it can be street driven. Custom made covers slip on when the Falcon is parked. Icon pistons, Comp Cam valve train, Lunati Crank and rods, ATI dampner, and a Milodon baffled Marine oil pan is incorporated for clearance. Modern Driveline Clutch assembly is hydraulically operated. SFI approved Scattershield. A custom aluminum gas tank is mounted in the stock location. 6 speed Tremec 'Magnum' transmission puts the horsepower to the 9" rear end. 260 amp double alternator delivers 15 volts constantly to the electrical system. "Fast" ECU and electronic dash lets you know everything is functioning properly. Battery is located in the trunk and there is a 'Kill' switch at the right rear on the car.
The interior houses a pair of Econoline bucket seats wrapped in black vinyl. Rear seat has been removed. Full roll cage with easy access thru either the driver's door or the passenger door. The stock steering column attaches to the Flaming River steering box. The door panels are done in the stock design.
This rocket scoots on down the road and will definitely put in back in the seat! No issues, built a few years ago and driven to many cars shows and Drag Racer's Reunion events, not built as a cosmetic car for a quick sell, no expense was spared to build a car that really stands out as a tribute the the early A/FX cars from the mid '60s. This car doesn't get trailered.....it is driven.
