1984 Chevy S-10 Blazer 383ci Street Rod
In 1983 General Motors made history with the Chevrolet
S-10 Blazer which was the first compact SUV, designed to offer a more
fuel-efficient and maneuverable alternative to the full-size K5. It pioneered
the modern SUV era, proving that a rugged, truck-based 4x4 could double as a
practical daily driver. In 1984 Chevy continued to market it as a highly
versatile sport utility vehicle, bridging the gap between a rugged off-road
adventurer and a practical in-town family wagon. As the second model year for the
S-10 series, the 1984 version introduced refined off-road capabilities and
updated convenience features while maintaining its compact, nimble footprint.
This particular example was completely original with 37,600 miles when it was
converted to the Street Rod she currently is 5 years ago. During its
transformation its 4-cylinder engine was replaced with a new 383ci V8 Stroker
engine that is fed via an Edelbrock 750cfm carb and polished intake, it is
sparked by a Flame Thrower III ignition and it sounds just plain nasty ripping
through its heat wrapped performance headers and dual exhaust. It also received
a new Ford 9” rear end with a locking differential which is fed by a
performance built T400 with a small stall converter. The exterior was redone at
the same time the powertrain was swapped. The door handles were shaved, the
grill was changed, a cowl hood was added, a rear wing spoiler was added and a
complete body kit was installed. It was repainted in its original color and
looks amazing with American Racing Torque Thrust D’s, its tinted windows, its
Chevy Crossed Flag V8 emblems and V8 emblem on the tailgate. The interior was
completely redone by Lyon Upholstery out of Brooklyn, OH who redid the complete
interior in a gorgeous blue tweed while incorporating a 3rd generation Camaro
styled center console. You will also notice a few billet pieces, the B&M
Speed Shifter, tilt steering, power windows and you will appreciate that the
A/C was converted to R134a and it blows ice cold. This sweet Street Rod has
only been driven 825 miles since its completion and is in amazing condition.
Over $20,000 was spent to convert it to what you see and that did not account
for the cost of the original vehicle. If you have been looking for a clean S-10
Blazer Street Rod you will not find a nicer one. We have priced it for a quick
sale so if you like what you see time is of the essence!
